
Ishan is a graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute in Calcutta, India. His films work on the stange union between social realism and visual stylization, and between dry comedy and warm-hearted humanism.
Ishan's short films The God of Panic Street (2019), A Season of Mangoes (2022) have screened at festivals all over the world including Filmfest Dresden, Stuttgart, Dharamshala, and bagged several awards including the ‘Cinema Experimenta Award' in India last year. Ishan is also an alumnus of the 2020 ‘Produire Au Sud' workshop, conducted by the 3 Continents Festival, France.
Currently developing my first feature film ‘Kabootar' set in Delhi, India. The film has been supported by West Meets East Screenplay Lab (Dhaka), Tasveer Co-Production Market (Seattle) and Co-Production Market in Film Bazaar (Goa).
My graduate film- A Season of Mangoes - premiered at IDSFFK, Kerala and had special screenings at Dharamshala International Film Festival, Habitat Film Festival and the School of Arts & Aesthetics, JNU. It was honored with the 'Cinema Experimenta' award at the SIGNS Film Festival (2022). The OST, composed by Cristian Paduano, garnered significant recognition, winning six awards across festivals.
My short fiction project - Pareshan Gully Ka Bhagwan Sikandar- premiered at Filmfest Dresden and went on to screen at various festivals across the world in Stuttgart, Beijing and Kolkata.
